Care Connection Ministry
 |
"Praise be to the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
compassion and of all comfort, who
comforts us in all our troubles so
that we can comfort those in any
trial with the comfort we ourselves
have received from God." 2
Corinthians 1:3-4
|
The Care Connection part of the Care Ministry is
all about ministry of presence. Our caregivers
have been specially trained to come alongside
those going through struggles or loss, to be a
comforter in times of trouble. Each is not a
professional counselor and do not provide
counseling, but do provide a loving, listening
ear and compassionate heart.
You do not have to be alone when facing
struggles. If you would like to meet with
one of our caregivers, please contact us. If you
are interested in becoming a part of the Care
Connection Ministry, please let us know. We will
be setting up training as people indicate their
interest.
Caregivers are the “After People." They are
ready to come alongside you or your friends,
neighbors, coworkers, and relatives to provide
comfort and support for as long “after” as they
are needed.
Purpose of Ministry: The purpose of this
ministry is to provide trained, Christian
Caregivers to persons in our congregation and
community who are experiencing problems or
difficulties in their lives.
The Caregiver Ministry is a confidential
ministry. Our trained caregivers are assigned
(one-to-one) to persons (care receivers)
experiencing various life problems. A care
receiver’s permission is always obtained prior to
the assignment of a caregiver to him/her.
Caregivers and their care receivers meet on a
regular, mutually agreed basis. Caregivers provide
support and encouragement to their care receivers
using their training and “spiritual tools” (such as
prayer and Scripture). With faith in Jesus Christ as
the “Cure Giver,” they help people cope with the
difficulties they may be experiencing.

Prayer Teams
|
|
We
believe in prayer. We encourage prayer without ceasing.
We have Prayer Warriors standing by.
-
Our Emergency Prayer Team is organized
in multiple chains so that your crisis is lifted to our
Heavenly Father by many voices, very quickly.
-
When a prayer call comes in, each
member immediately passes on the request by phone and
then kneels down to pray.
-
In your emergency, call Natalia Klugman
at 384-8501 or the church office at 482-2657.
-
We collect prayer requests from all the
Sunday Communication cards which are dropped in the
offering plate and from online requests.
-
Pastor's Prayer Partners is a group
that prays before the morning services. We begin at 8 AM
asking for God's message to work in the hearts of the
people.

Join the team.
If you would like to pray for others
in their time of emergency,

Benevolence Fund
In
my first year as a member of RRM, I noticed that the giving
envelope changed on the first Sunday of the month. On it was an
option to put money toward something called “The Benevolence
Fund.” Once I got to know a few people, I asked about it. The
answers I received were varied: “Oh, they provide meals for the
homeless,” or “They pay people’s rent,” or “They help people
with their bills.”
In
truth, the Benevolence Fund does all these things and more. This
is how it works: |
-
If
you have a request for assistance, please download and
print the Benevolent Fund Request Form . Fill out
the form as completely as possible and bring it to the
front desk at the RRM Church. If you are not able to
print this form, go to the front desk and ask for a
copy. Once your request has been reviewed, someone from
the Benevolent Fund will get back to you as soon as
possible.
Please note:
The Fund is supported solely by members of RRM and is
reserved for church membership. Approved requests
generally require at least three working days to process
a check. All checks are made payable to businesses or
entities that are owed money, not to individuals
requiring assistance. Cash is never dispensed.
-
If the board feels the request for assistance is
valid, the Fund will assist with a variety of
expenses including rent, mortgage payments,
utilities, etc. It’s probably easier to list items
the board will not assist with. These include items
that are not considered life necessities, including
cell phones, cable television, Internet connections,
etc. Life throws curveballs of all kinds and we
review every request with prayer and hard thought.
Our goal is to provide assistance to those who need
it most.
|
|
The
Fund does not ask for repayment when assistance is given,
but many recipients go out of their way to give back to the
Fund when they’re on solid financial footing again.
In addition to our support of the church membership, the
Benevolence Fund also sponsors the Jehovah Jireh Food
Pantry. The Fund pays 100% of the rent, electricity and
telephone service, and pays the food bill for groceries
purchased through FOOD Share. The Pantry, run by our very
own group of volunteers, feeds the working poor in our
community and is not limited to church membership. We see it
as an excellent opportunity to serve Christ to those less
fortunate, right here in our own town.
So next time you’re in church on the first Sunday of the
month, look for the giving envelope and consider supporting
the Benevolence Fund. By doing so you are helping to ensure
the well-being of our RRMchurch family.

Jehovah Jireh Food Pantry
"The Lord Will Provide"
An Outreach of Rusty River Ministries
 |
Jehovah Jireh was started in 1990 as an
outreach to people in our church and
community who were experiencing a need
for groceries to feed their families.
This is a simple approach to show God's
love to all in a practical way. The
pantry is located at 355 Mobil Avenue in
Camarillo.
|
|
 |
It is an income-based ministry, the
guidelines being those set by the Department
of Agriculture.
We accept applications on Fridays between
1-1:30 PM. Proof of income, family size and
residency are required. An appointment will
be set at that time for the families to
collect their groceries each Friday as long
as they are in need. |
|
|
We provide groceries for those who:
-
live in our community, or
-
work in our community, or
-
attend our Church.
