This
year we've put together resource with "missional" in the title.
It's called Missional Small Groups, designed to help Christians
do something, if they are willing. As a Training Theme, it is designed
to help you put on training events to help learn what it
means to think and act missionally. It includes devotional material,
learning activities, assessments, and how-to articles written by key
thinkers like Alan Hirsch, Bill Donahue, Mark Buchanan, Reid Smith, and
others. |

Allan Hirsch, founding Director of Forge
Mission Training Network and is an active participant in The
Tribe of LA, a Jesus community among artists and creatives in Los
Angeles will speak to us today on, "Integrating your gifting and calling
for worship using the African drum circle, electronic grooves, acoustic
instruments, and the rhythms of silence, as well as visual and
performance-based art." |

The Resurgence Training Center
Three areas of focus:
Gospel-centered sound doctrine based on the entirety of God’s Word.
Urban From the cities we want to see gospel-centered churches and
campuses extend to suburban and rural areas.
Missional. Knowledge and education are useless without a
practical, efficacious, and sincere love for people.
In these ways the training center will
bring to fruition a Resurgence.

This morning,
Miroslav Volf
professor at Yale Divinity School and
director of the Yale Center for Faith & Culture will address on on the
topic of, “Exclusion and Embrace.” He will prompt us to
think by asking: is Truth transcendental? If something is true now, is
it true always? We know that God has and is Truth, but does that mean we
can transcend our humanity and limited understanding and grasp Truth at
all? |

March 1, 2010
Dear Rusty River Ministry
Family,
You won't want to miss this weekend at Rusty River Ministries! It will be
history-making and also the first service of our Decade of Destiny. I
can't wait to share with you what happened this week.
It speaks volumes about YOU, the depth of commitment in this fellowship,
and where God is taking us in 2010 - our 45th Anniversary year. I'm
simply calling this week's message "The Miracle".
In spite of a media culture that thrives on bad news and is typically
clueless about how churches actually work, and in spite of hatefulness
and insults by some who immediately jumped to wrong conclusion - the
church of God marches on, and once again God surprises all of us!
I am humbled to have been your pastor for 45 years. See you this
weekend.
Your Cohort,
Rusty River

Dear Rusty River
Ministries family,
Ruthie and I would like to thank you for all of your generous giving,
your commitment and your selfless sacrifices that have made 2009 such
and amazing year. In addition, thank you for staying in faith and
believing for God to do great things through the RRM Church!
Because of you, this year we saw over 125,000 people accept Jesus as
their Savior in our weekend services. Hundreds of thousands attended our
live worship events in the United States and around the world, and we
delivered hope to nearly 50,000 people in Dodger stadium and millions
more through the live television event. Without a doubt, 2009 was one of
the greatest years of ministry that we've ever known.
With just a few weekends left in the year, I would like to ask you,
along with the many other families of Lakewood, to consider a special
year-end gift. We have made it through a very challenging year, and
nothing would prepare our church more for 2010 than to experience a
supernatural outpouring of support. Victoria and I are praying and
believing for this in these final weeks of 2009.
It is a new season of God’s favor. It is a season to discover and seize
God’s increase on our church and on our lives. I am so excited about
what is to come here at RRM and around the world as we share the hope of
Jesus.
Thank you so much for being a vital part of the Lakewood family.
Expecting God to do greater things,
