Ed Young's BOOKS

The Marriage Mirror: Reflecting God in Your Marriage
It's a reality in any relationship. Who you really are will be revealed at some point over the course of time. This is especially true in marriage.
God designed marriage as a mirror. It's what intimacy is all about: seeing a reflection of yourself in your spouse. But it doesn't end with seeing your own reflection. Each time you look at your marriage, you should see God's reflection shining back. Because as you do, you'll discover more than a great marriage; you'll discover the ways God wants to use you and where he can take you.
In this book, Ed and Lisa Young share with the reader just what marriage is, what it can do and who it is designed for. And as they reveal God's truth about the most important earthly relationship, you'll discover just how your marriage mirror can help you see clearer and grow closer not only with your spouse, but also with God

Beauty Full: Becoming More Than Just Pretty
Just look around. Each year, society spends billions of dollars to convince us that beauty is exactly skin deep. Whatever hurt or blemish you have in your life, the world tells us there is a cream, concoction or cover up for it.  But when we value physical looks more than the soul, we drain beauty of its full potential. In these pages, you will find the cure the world so often promises but never delivers. And you will see that your God-given beauty is as close as your heart, as deep as your soul.  In today’s world of makeup and manicures, spa treatments and spray on tans, so many women are living in the shadows of true beauty. Rather than focusing on God’s intent for soul deep beauty, we concentrate on the surface image in the mirror. Sadly, many of us look to the cultural definition of beauty as the standard measurement of our own self worth.
•We hide behind the struggles of not being thin enough.
•We beat ourselves up over not being fashionable enough.
•We obsess over not being “pretty” enough.
But the skin deep beauty that society touts is a cheap counterfeit of the true beauty God has placed inside each and every one of us. In this book, our husbands teach us how to reclaim God’s amazing gift and how we can reveal it in and through every aspect of our lives.  You may be wondering how two men can write a book that speaks to women about true beauty. After all, haven’t men played a large part in distorting the definition of beauty into what it is today? But don’t be so quick to dis¬count their words.  The Bible is full of strong, passionate, real-life examples of what God has in mind when it comes to his design for beauty. And as lifelong students of God’s Word, Ed and Mac have had the opportunity to research and communicate the truth about that beauty to thousands of women.  As husbands, they have continued to bring out our true beauty, even in the most difficult of times. On our worst days, they encourage us and remind us of the beauty God has instilled in our souls. And on our best days, they remind us of our beauty by showering us with compliments.
Finally, as fathers, Ed and Mac do all they can to under¬score and highlight God’s intended beauty in the hearts and lives of their daughters. And they strive to communicate to their daughters how truly beautiful they are in their fathers’ eyes.  It is so easy to get caught up in the demands of society. But if we aren’t careful, we can end up feeling inadequate and empty. This book will help you gain a clear understanding of beauty that will leave you feeling beauty full. And you will see how God’s gift to you has the power to change not only your life, but also the lives of everyone you touch, forever.

The Creative Leader: Unleashing the power of your creative potential
Why should we implement creativity in leadership?  •God invented creativity.  •Jesus modeled it.
•The Holy Spirit empowers it.  •And people desperately need it.
Creativity is not an option for the church; it is a biblical mandate that flows from the very character of the Creator. If church leaders are going to live out the challenging mission that God has laid out for the local church, we must unleash the creative potential available to us.
This book is the definitive answer for the question Ed Young hears over and over again…What have you done at Fellowship Church to remain creative and continue growing? Think of it as a field manual for doing church differently. Packed with details, this book covers the full spectrum of church leadership all in one place, including:   •Things they didn’t teach me in seminary  •A step-by-step look at message development  •Crafting effective illustrations  •Implementing team creativity  •How to keep your audience engaged  •Building a creative staff  •Overcoming obstacles to innovation  •Integrating multiple senses into your service  •Tips to keep the ideas flowing and avoid burnout  •A big-picture rundown for your weekend service

Kid CEO: How to keep your children from running your life
In these days of corporate scandal, there's a far more pervasive and serious problem going on right under our noses. It's a family takeover orchestrated by our kids. That's right, children are taking control of family units in record numbers.  When a man and woman marry, says author Ed Young, they occupy the leadership roles in their relationship. But in some cases, as children enter the family arena, that begins to change. The kids slowly become the center of the family universe as parents relinquish control to them. In effect, the children become Kid CEOs and the parents become the support staff. This ultimately has devastating effects on both the marriage and the family itself.  Through a thought-provoking yet entertaining analysis of contemporary family dynamics, Ed Young challenges parents to reclaim their leadership role and explains why marriage must take first priority in the home. Discover the four crucial elements of successful parenting:
•Knowledge. Learn how to build and strengthen the family foundation—and keep yourselves, not your kids, in the executive office.  •Intimacy. Remember to keep love alive during the parenting years—because a marriage defeated in the bedroom is a marriage defeated in the family room.
•Discipline. Maintain a training ground of loving obedience—and understand discipline from both the child's and parents' viewpoint.  •Structure. Raise well-rounded kids within a balanced home—and guard against anything that threatens them, within and without.
As parents, we have charge of our children for only a short time. It's up to us to prepare them for life...and still have, after they grow up, a marriage more vibrant than ever.

So we move on to the next pursuit, still searching for happiness.
But the truth is, God wants more for us. Happiness is just a cheap imitation. Purpose Statement:  Our Purpose for Ed Young Ministries is simple: We exist to Reach Up, Reach Out and Reach In. These three are the biblical mandates of this ministry
Reach Up
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37
We work hard to provide an exciting and God-honoring environment to connect with God and worship Him. When we worship God, we express our love and devotion to Him. What an honor it is to come humbly before the creator of the Universe. All of us are wired for worship, and the only way we can express true love to God and worship Him is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Reach Out
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19
Another key purpose of Ed Young Ministries is to reach out to the people who are outside the family of God. We utilize the most powerful forms of media and communications available and the development and distribution of practical teaching resources to communicate the life-changing message of God's Word. With the prayers and support of our friends and partners around the world, we present a creative and relevant message of Christ and His love for people worldwide.
Reach In
"And teaching them to obey everything I commanded you." Matthew 28:20
We also exist to help you as a Christ-follower grow in your spiritual maturity and become full-court followers of Christ. Because the Christian life is one of constant growth and development, we are focused on teaching people how to apply biblical truth in every area of their lives. We want to help you move from a spectator in the stands to the game of active service and encourage you to influence every aspect of the world around you.
